Making Waves in the Community
American Red Cross Blood Drive: Four times a year, Hamilton Mall partners with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive for shoppers to give something that means something.
Wishing Well: Hamilton Mall truly wishes the community well. Drop a coin in the wishing well located near Customer Service—100% of the proceeds benefit local causes.
School Spirit Challenge: We strive to support our local schools, so from August 2016 – April 2017, shoppers took their pep from the rally to the register at Hamilton Mall. Shoppers earned points for their favorite elementary school when they presented a Hamilton Mall receipt to Customer Service within 48 hours of their purchase. Customer Service attributed points to the school of the customer’s choice on a one-to-one basis, i.e. $1.00 = 1 point. Every Tuesday was double points day. The school that earned the most points by April 20th received the First Place prize of $5,000. Second and Third Place took home $2,500 and $1,000 respectively.
Atlantic County SPCA: Our 2016 holiday season was about more than Christmas gifts and Black Friday deals. It was a time to care for friends in need, including the four-legged and furry. Hamilton Mall partnered with the Atlantic County SPCA, a chapter of the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Every Sunday during December, shoppers could bring in their pets for Pet Photo Day and take a pic with Santa. A portion of the proceeds went to the Atlantic County SPCA, and all pets received a travel water bowl, courtesy of Hamilton Mall.
Toys For Kids: Every child deserves to feel the joy of the holiday season. That’s why in 2016, Hamilton Mall Mays Landing partnered with Atlantic County Toys For Kids. Shoppers brought new, unwrapped toys to the mall and placed them in the drop-box locations. The toys then benefited local children in Atlantic County.
Sounds of the Season: Throughout the years, local choirs, bands and performance groups have been invited to feature their talents at Hamilton Mall. See them perform in front of shoppers, friends and family.
Gift Wrapping for a Cause: In December 2016, our present to community youth came in packages and bows. Every weekend, one of 24 local high school clubs and organizations staffed a Hamilton Mall wrapping station for holiday gifts. 100% of the proceeds benefited each individual organization.
Gingerbread House Scholarship: For students at The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College, the 2016 holiday season tasted extra sweet. Participants baked holiday-themed confectionary creations in hopes of taking home one of three scholarships. Shoppers stopped by Customer Service to vote for their favorite house.
Savory Sundays: Throughout 2016, Savory Sunday took place once a month at Hamilton Mall with The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College. Partnered with ACA chef educators, we conducted demonstrations in Center Court. Attendees learned how to make healthy lunches, recipes for canning and freezing, and about afternoon pick-me-ups.
Breakfast with Santa: The big man eats more than milk and cookies at this mall. For over 25 years, The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College has partnered with Hamilton Mall for Breakfast with Santa. The chefs and students prepare a gourmet breakfast consisting of pancakes, bacon, sausage, muffins and Danishes.
National Night Out 2016: On August 2, 2016, Hamilton Mall hosted National Night Out for the Township of Hamilton. We’re proud to have worked with so many community members at this annual event. The talent show series was held at Center Court on the first floor every Thursday from July 28, 2016 through September 1, 2016. It featured musicians, singers and dancers, all competing each week for a monetary prize. In addition, the top three performers from each weekly contest were invited to compete for the grand prize in the Hamilton’s Got Talent finals on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
